News Corp Australia has named former RBG vaccine chief executive Andrew Rigg as the new vaccination appointments manager, the corporation announced on Thursday.
“The new appointment will oversee the recruitment and training of RBG staff and will oversee all activities and processes of the RBG Vaccine and Immunisation Programme (RBGVP),” the statement read.
“Rigg has been an integral part of the vaccine team and is experienced in the delivery of the program and in managing vaccine delivery for large healthcare organisations.”
This appointment will allow Rigg to provide strong leadership for the program, as well as to oversee the delivery and operation of the Vaccine Team and Vaccine Management Unit.
“The announcement follows a week of speculation about Rigg’s future, which included reports the company was looking for a new CEO.
Rigg joined the company in 2005, becoming chief executive in 2009.
In January, the RAG reported a $1.1 billion loss and was hit by a $15.9 million fine from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission for allegedly misleading the public over its pricing for its RBGVP.
